On a dare, Dee entered the United States Marine Corps after high school. She left six years later as a Sergeant.  “Oorah!”

Afterward, Dee lived in Japan working at an all-Japanese radio station, FM Aomori, as a disc jockey. “And boy … did I stand out!”

Dee has worked for more than two decades acting in television and film. She has performed in over 40 stage productions beginning with “Shear Madness” at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC. She has won numerous awards including a 2013 ISA award for Best Supporting Actress. Dee was nominated twice for the NAACP Image award, first for “Homegirl” at the Court Theater in Los Angeles, CA, and then for “The Last Street Play” at the Colsac Theater in Los Angeles, CA. “Third time’s a charm I hear!”

“On the home front, not only did I survive childbirth twice (OUCH! ... no epidurals for this Marine!), I also survived living in a household full of numerous exotic animals including three ball python snakes (I was afraid of the smallest one, he’d stare at me funny!), a Pacman frog, a bearded dragon, a water dragon, two blue-headed tree agamas (they turn blue when you piss them off.  I apparently pissed them off A LOT!), two giant African millipedes, a bare-eyed cockatoo, several green iguanas, a white rat (what a cutie … he’d ride on my shoulder when I was vacuuming!), a Chilean rose-hair tarantula (she was a little scary!), two dogs, and an ex-husband."
